Gtech Infrastructure Limited is partnering with Israq Textile Mills Ltd. for the development and implementation of a 3.6 MWp rooftop solar system at the company’s manufacturing facilities in Madhkhola, Sreepur, Gazipur. The project is currently under implementation and will add meaningful on-site renewable generation capacity to an established export-oriented spinning operation.
Israq Textile Mills Ltd. is a cotton textile and spinning mill and forms part of the Ahmed Group, a recognised name in Bangladesh’s textile industry. The Group’s journey began in 1995 and today includes multiple entities spanning spinning, rotor spinning, cotton mills and related manufacturing. Israq Textile Mills operates as a 100% export-oriented unit, focused on quality yarn production for downstream garment and textile markets.
Once operational, the 3.6 MWp rooftop installation will provide Israq Textile Mills with a substantial block of daytime clean electricity generated on its own premises. For an energy-intensive spinning operation, on-site solar supports lower and more predictable energy costs, reduced exposure to grid and fuel volatility, and tangible progress on carbon and renewable energy metrics that increasingly feature in buyer and compliance frameworks.
Industrial rooftop solar of this scale is designed for long-term performance. With proper engineering and quality components, systems are expected to generate reliably for 20–25 years or more, turning factory roof space into a productive energy asset rather than unused structural area.
The climate case is equally important. On-site solar reduces reliance on fossil-based grid and captive power, cutting the factory’s carbon intensity in a measurable way. For a spinning mill integrated into export-oriented value chains, this is not only operationally useful, it is a concrete contribution to the broader effort to decarbonise Bangladesh’s textile manufacturing base. Companies that invest in clean energy infrastructure today are positioning themselves on the right side of the energy transition: aligning production with the direction the world is moving, rather than waiting until external pressure leaves no alternative.
Spinning and textile manufacturing remain energy-intensive. As costs rise and global buyers place greater weight on how suppliers source electricity and manage emissions, on-site renewable generation offers a practical, measurable response. The 3.6 MWp project at Israq Textile Mills reflects this shift, treating solar as industrial infrastructure rather than a side initiative.
Gtech Infrastructure Limited specialises in industrial clean energy solutions, covering design, EPC delivery and project development for rooftop solar systems. The company’s approach prioritises technical robustness, bankable execution and systems that perform under real industrial operating conditions in Bangladesh.
The Israq Textile Mills project adds to a growing pipeline of industrial rooftop solar installations across Bangladesh’s textile and apparel sector. Gtech Infrastructure Limited remains committed to supporting manufacturing clients who are ready to deploy clean energy with engineering quality, commercial clarity and long-term performance at the centre of every project.
